my second mother's day

To all of the ladies out there who have lost a child in any way, or just yearn to be a mother, I want to say, I see you. I see your grief, pain, struggles + tears. I see you smiling on the outside but secretly playing out all of the “what ifs” in your mind. I see your eyes tear up at church when they ask for all of the moms to stand up on Mother’s Day. I see you trying to push away your guilt for feeling sad when life is still so good. I see you. God sees you. You are not alone. I am extremely blessed with a loving mom and mom-in-law, and one of my favorite things in life is watching my sisters be amazing moms to my beautiful nieces and nephews. I am truly so excited to celebrate them tomorrow! But today, I want to acknowledge those who are having a hard time thinking about Mother’s Day and what it means to them. If just one person needs to hear this today, I want to say, “You are not alone. You matter. Your child’s life, no matter how short, will never be forgotten. Happy Mother's Day."

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John‬ ‭16:33‬ ‭

“God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭13:5‬
